The Cumberland County Juvenile Probation Department welcomes you to our Website.  Our department operates under the direction of the President Judge of the Cumberland County Court, Ninth Judicial District of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  Our professional staff of twenty two probation officers and four support personnel are dedicated to the operation of a highly respected department.  The juvenile probation staff possesses a diverse range of experiences and disciplines with many of the probation officers having worked previously in the juvenile justice field.  Our staff's qualifications include backgrounds in law enforcement, corrections, counseling, education, and various related trades.  All Cumberland County Juvenile Probation Officers possess a Baccalaureate Degree with more than fifty percent of the staff having accomplished completion of an advanced degree.  All Cumberland County Juvenile Probation Officers are required to undergo a minimum of forty hours training on an annual basis.  You will frequently observe our juvenile probation officers working side-by-side with school officials to promote attendance and proper discipline, or in the community performing thousands of hours of community service at hundreds of community service locations. 

The mission of the Cumberland County Juvenile Probation Department is to administer the directives of the Cumberland County Juvenile Court.  The Juvenile Probation Department is committed to policies and programming that will ensure a generation of productive and positive youth. 

We dedicate ourselves to working in partnership to enhance the capacity of Cumberland County's Juvenile Justice System to achieve its Balanced and Restorative mission by:  employing evidence-based practices, with fidelity at every stage of the juvenile justice process; collecting and analyzing data necessary to measure the results of these efforts; and with this knowledge striving to continuously improve the quality of our decisions, services and programs.
