Early Intervention
Does my child need early intervention?
Each child is unique and develops at his or her own rate. When a child is not developing as expected (see Milestones), early support and training will help the child be more successful later in life. There could be many reasons why a child is developing slower than expected. Some reasons include:
- Low birth weight
- Lead poisoning
- Birth anomalies

- Premature birth
- Parental substance abuse
- Sometimes, unknown

Who can receive services?
Any child living in Cumberland or Perry county who is between birth and the age of three, having a delay in development determined by an evaluation.
What is the cost?Families at any income level are eligible and services are provided at no cost to the family.
Where are services usually provided?
Services are provided in settings that are a part of the child's daily routine, including:
