Founded in 1750, Cumberland County is one of the oldest counties in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and maintains over 260 years of official records. Cumberland County Archives is dedicated to managing and preserving records created by the county’s various governmental offices and departments. We primarily house non-active, permanent, pre-1950 records. However, a substantial number of other records, including some historic documents and newer records, are still maintained by the various offices and departments.
