Community Outreach

The Commission created the guide "How to Start a Small Business" for Cumberland County and the Cumberland County Service Directory.

The Commission educated students in Cumberland County about Violence Against Women. The Commission assisted Lebanon County in building and forming a Commission for Women.

The Commission reached out to service providers through "Stop the Violence Summit." This summit provided educational forums for the providers.

The Commission supports the Cumberland County District Attorney's Victim Services Division, Domestic Violence Services of Cumberland & Perry Counties and the YWCA Sexual Assault/Rape Crisis of Cumberland County.

The Commission co-sponsored a workshop with the Penn State Extension Office called Thinking About Running for Local Office? in January of 2011.

The Commission researched, created and sponsored a Window to History display at the Cumberland County Historical Society for Women's History month in March of 2011 about a suffrage event in Carlisle, PA in 1915 and ran the following Op Ed in the Patriot News: These Stories Deserve to be Remembered

The Commission promoted and co-sponsored the showing of the Top Secret Rosies Film at Dickinson College for Women's History Month in March of 2012. Dickinson co-sponsors included the Math & Computer Science Department and the Women's Center.
