Light of Hope

Spark the Flame of Hope for an abused and/or neglected child.

The Cumberland County CASA Volunteer Swearing-In Ceremony and 18th Annual Light of Hope Celebration

was held on May 1, 2019 at 6:00pm in the Old Courthouse.

Please plan to join us in April 2020 for our 19th Annual Light of Hope Celebration!  More details will be provided closer to the time. All are welcome to attend!

The Light of Hope Ceremony, an annual CASA event, is part of the swearing-in of new CASA Volunteers.  Volunteers are sworn in following an extensive training program to help equip them to advocate for the best interest of the children to whom they will be appointed.  The ceremony also includes a candle lighting that is meant to signify the hope having a caring adult in a child's life can bring.  This event is held annually as part of Child Abuse Prevention Month in April.

Congrats to Our 2019 Volunteers: Maureen Beltrandi, Debbie Bilous, Larry Boresow, Hope Comeau, Caresha Halkias, Darya Kharlamova, and Joy Nixon!
