Evelyn T. Brenneman Memorial Garden

Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on October 11, 2016 to unveil the Evelyn T. Brenneman Memorial Garden and announce the establishment of the Friends of Claremont Foundation.
The ceremony paid tribute to Mrs. Brenneman, a former resident of CNRC, who passed away in May of 2013. Mrs. Brenneman valued Claremont as a special place in the community and made a generous bequest to Claremont.

A portion of the Brenneman endowment was used to create the memorial garden as a place of peace and tranquility surrounded by nature for residents to enjoy. The remainder of the endowment funds have been allocated  for the creation of the Friends of Claremont, a 501©3 non-profit organization, founded to serve as a path for others to consider charitable giving to enhance the quality of life and care for CNRC residents.
Mrs. Brenneman and her husband dedicated their lives to public service.  She was the widow of the late Earl Brenneman, who served 2-terms as Cumberland County Commissioner in the 1940’s. Mr. Brenneman went on to serve as the County’s Chief Clerk for nearly 28 years. Mrs. Brenneman was also a former County employee having spent a portion of her career working at the Cumberland County Courthouse and then retired after many years of service from the Pennsylvania State Capital.

The Claremont Community is profoundly grateful to Mrs. Brenneman for her generous donation that exemplifies the significance of benefactors and the positive impact they can have in the life of others! By establishing the Friends of Claremont Foundation, her charitable donation has sown the seed for others and enables CNRC to continue its long-standing tradition of providing the highest level of quality care to our residents for many years to come
