Cumberland County Veterans Organizations have developed a list of Memorial Day Events scheduled throughout the County. Please take some time to attend one or more of the events listed below.

May 26 11:00am Memorial Day Service Hampden Township . Veterans Recognition Committee and Hampden Township Volunteer Fire Company No. I  will hold a dedication of the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial beginning at 11:00am at the Hampden Township Veterans Park, 4345 Marketplace Way, Enola.

service will be held in the community room at the Good Hope Fire Station.

Memorial Day Parade & Picnic

Boiling Springs . Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8851 will hold their annual Memorial Day Parade and picnic. The Parade will start promptly at 1:00pm and end at the Memorial Clock Tower at Children's Lake where ceremonies will be held. The Cumberland County Honor Guard will provide a firing detail. A picnic will be held immediately following the parade in the Boiling Springs Tavern parking lot.
Guest Speaker: Tom Hayes, Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Army, Retired.
Inclement Weather: Ceremony will be held in the Boiling Spring High School auditorium.

May 27 1:00pm Memorial Day Ceremony Mt. Holly Springs . VFW Post 7343 / American Legion Post 674 will hold a Memorial Day Ceremony at the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery at 1:00pm.

Memorial Day Parade & Service

Camp Hill . American Legion Post 43 will hold a Memorial Day Parade beginning at 9:30am. The parade will start at 19th and Market Streets and continue to the Fire Hall. A service will follow at 11:00am at the Camp Hill Cemetery behind the Fire Hall at 2145 Walnut Street, Camp Hill.
Guest Speaker: Roger N. Thomas, U.S. Marine Corp
Inclement Weather: service will be held at the Camp Hill Borough Building at 2145 Walnut Street, Camp Hill.

May 28 8:30am Memorial Day Parade Carlisle . Joint Veterans Council of Carlisle will hold the Annual Memorial Day Parade forming at 8:30am and starting promptly at 9:00am, with services following the parade at Veterans' Memorial Courtyard at 9:45am.
Guest Speaker: Carlisle Police Chief Taro Landis, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a commissioned officer in the Army Reserve.
Inclement Weather: Parade will be cancelled and the ceremonies will be held in the Old Courthouse.

May 28 11:00am Memorial Day  Ceremony Mechanicsburg . Mechanicsburg VFW Post 7530 will hold a Memorial Day Ceremony at 11:00 A.M. at 4545 Westport Drive, Mechanicsburg.

Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony

Mechanicsburg .  Mechanicsburg Area Veterans Council will hold a Memorial Day Parade starting at 10:00am, followed by a ceremony at the Mechanicsburg Cemetery GAR monument on Marble Street at 11:00am.
Guest Speaker: Thomas Faley, Colonel, U.S. Army, Retired. 
Inclement Weather: Parade will be cancelled and the ceremony will be held at 11:00am inside the American Legion Post 109 in Mechanicsburg.

Mechanicsburg . Vietnam Veterans of Mechanicsburg will hold a Memorial Service at 2:00pm at the Lincoln Colored Cemetery off Winding Hill Road in Mechanicsburg.
Inclement Weather: Service will be conducted rain or shine.

Newville . Joint Veterans Council of Newville will hold a Memorial Day Parade starting at 1:00pm. Memorial Day Services will immediately follow the parade at the Fountain at the Veterans Memorial.

Inclement Weather: Parade will be cancelled and the Memorial Day Services will be held at the VFW West Main Street in Newville.

Memorial Day Ceremonies & Parade

Shippensburg . Joint Veterans Council of Shippensburg  will hold their annual Memorial Day Ceremonies and Parade beginning at 10:00am at Locust Grove Cemetery, followed by services at Spring Hill Cemetery at 11:00am and flag raising ceremony at Shippensburg Veterans Memorial Park at 12:00pm. At 1:15pm the Navy & Marine Memorial Services will be conducted at Branch Bridge on King Street. The Parade will begin at 2:00pm from the corner of King and Prince Streets.
Inclement Weather: Each unit returns to the post involved for refreshments and a time of fellowship.

Inclement weather: Event will be held nearby under cover.
