Beginning in the spring of 2014, the Staff of the Cumberland County Planning Department commenced an update to the Cumberland County Hazard Mitigation Plan that sought to identify, prioritize, and propose mitigation actions for the natural and manmade hazards facing the residents of Cumberland County. The update was approved by PEMA and FEMA. The Cumberland County Hazard Mitigation Plan was approved by the Commissioners and forwarded to each municipality for their adoption in 2015.
In August of 2018, the Cumberland County Planning Department began to complete an update to the 2014 Hazard Mitigation Plan. The Plan is required to be updated every 5 years to be eligible for Hazard Mitigation Funding. The following information will be utilized during the planning process to promote municipal participation in order to successfully complete the plan update. We anticipate the plan update to be completed in the summer of 2019.
