Effective immediately through July 31, 2020, the Cumberland County Recorder of Deeds’ Office will be open by appointment as we integrate our staff and the public back into a normal office routine - this includes public searching.  Recorder of Deeds’ staff will be taking extra time to sanitize areas on a regular basis throughout the day, and in cooperation with County Policy, we ask that masks be worn when coming in contact with staff.

Any searcher who would like to schedule a time slot for searching in the office should also email  Times will be limited through June, and expanded in July. Our land records have been and will continue to be available online at for 24/7 searching.

We continue to encourage anyone filing a document to eRecord if at all possible.  This is the fastest, safest, and most efficient method for handling documents. For more information, please visit the Recorder of Deeds webpage at:  We are also recording documents via US Mail, Fed Ex or UPS.  Mailed documents must include a stamped, self-addressed envelope, and there may be a longer processing time for these documents.

Since March, the Recorder’s Office has maintained a consistent flow of recording documents.  To date, we have recorded approximately 1000 documents over the same time in 2019.  We appreciate your patience as we continue to make changes to the office in order to provide you with efficient service and accessible records.
