Recorder of Deeds Office

July 16, 2020

Effective immediately, the Cumberland County Recorder of Deeds’ Office will be open by appointment only  until further notice  - this includes public searching.  Recorder of Deeds’ staff will be taking extra time to sanitize areas on a regular basis throughout the day, and in cooperation with County Policy, we ask that masks be worn when coming in contact with staff.

Instead of calling the office, we prefer you email us at to schedule an appointment to record documents including subdivision plans and notary commissions or to schedule time for searching.

Our land records have been and will continue to be available online at for 24/7 searching.

We continue to encourage anyone filing a document to eRecord if at all possible.  This is the fastest, safest, and most efficient method for handling documents. For more information, please visit the Recorder of Deeds webpage at:  We are also recording documents via US Mail, Fed Ex or UPS.  Mailed documents must include a stamped, self-addressed envelope, and there may be a longer processing time for these documents.

To eRecord, you must use one of our approved eRecording vendors:

simplifile –,   CSC – ,  ePN –

Since March, the Recorder’s Office has maintained a consistent flow of recording documents.  We appreciate your patience as we continue to make changes to the office in order to provide you with efficient service and accessible records.
